Ku Anuenue

02

Ku Anuenue is a nonprofit in Hilo, HI that aims to provide a safe space for LGBTQIA2S+ and build a community of care and belonging through positive relationships to self, others, and the ‘āina (meaning land in Hawaiian). The symbolic heart was made with an earthy rainbow color palette and the inspiration of a Taro (or Kalo in Hawaiian) leaf, in order to communicate the Ku Anuenue's message of being caring and down to earth with our āina and our mahu (queer in Hawaiian) community.

These photos were taken at the Hilo, HI Pride Festival, where Ku Anuenue held their first ever booth.
